Overview
Jack Frost is one of two ski areas in the Jack Frost and Big Boulder resort in Kidder Township, in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. Big Boulder's owners built Jack Frost for longer runs and a higher vertical drop, with trails that descend to the level of the Lehigh River. Peak Resorts owned and operated the resort until Vail Resorts bought it in 2019. Vail says its Mid Atlantic ski areas serve guests from Philadelphia, central and southern New Jersey and other nearby markets.
Culture
Jack Frost is a major tourist attraction in the region and has drawn new home buyers, who cite the ski resort, golf courses and the distance from New York City and Philadelphia. Kidder Township had 1,935 people at the 2010 census, up from 1,185 in 2000.
