Overview
Roundtop Mountain Resort is a ski area in York County, Pennsylvania. Irvin Naylor developed it as Ski Roundtop in 1964 and formed Snow Time, Inc. to run it; Snow Time later also ran Liberty and Whitetail. Peak Resorts bought the three in 2018, and Vail Resorts acquired them in 2019. Roundtop has 22 trails on a 600 foot vertical drop, full snowmaking, and night skiing on 95 percent of its terrain seven nights a week. Summer brings camps and paintball.
Culture
Vail groups Roundtop with its eight Mid Atlantic ski areas, which serve guests from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, central and southern New Jersey, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Vail says these areas offer local options and easy overnight weekend and holiday trips within driving distance of those markets. Roundtop sits closer to Baltimore than its sister resort Whitetail, which is 92 miles from the city.
